Like many software engineers I find myself browsing blogs for new ideas, troubleshooting and how to help.  I think it is about time that I try and give back a little…share some of my experiences and opinions with technology and architecture as I forge my way through the software engineering world.  I have spent time as a developer, team lead, manager, consultant and have recently been dipping my toes into the startup world, looking back, I can’t say that one is a favorite role for me, each has provided me with unique experiences and lessons learned that I leverage often.  Let’s run through some things I expect, which I’m sure with evolve often.

I expect that many of the post will be more on the technical side, but I am planning to drop in my thoughts and opinions on teams, methodologies, career paths, startups and maybe something really crazy once in a while that purely personal (like being a problem solver when your wife doesn’t really need one…that just happened).  If there is something you want to see in a post or if you are interested in writing a guest post just shoot me an email.

I’m sure some of the opinions will be disagreeable and others just plain wrong…but I expect some post will be helpful for others, such as solving a technical problem or providing insight on hiring a team of people.

I expect a few grammatical errors, not the ones that the compiler catches :),  and odd word choices here and there, after all, that is generally how I carry on a conversation.

I think that I’ll do some segments though I don’t know what that looks like yet, something like: lessons learned, maybe startups, book summary / review…etc.
